Description
John Furbish (1836-1905) worked at Furbish's Hardware on Maine Street in Brunswick and was one of the original members of the Pejepscot Historical Society when it was founded January 10, 1888. On December 3, 1891 John purchased the First Congregational Church building on School Street for $1,000 for use by the Society. On December 28, 1892 the Pejepscot Historical Society purchased 12 School Street from Mr. Furbish.
