Description
Samuel Lincoln Forsaith was the youngest National Bank cashier in the state. Mr. Forsaith was re-elected Town Treasurer for 51 consecutive years in Brunswick. Samuel Forsaith was born March 25, 1878, son of Captain Edward B. and Marian B. Wiswell Forsaith.
Sam Forsaith graduated from Brunswick High School in 1896, then went into banking. In May of 1901, he was elected Treasure of Brunswick Savings Institution. He was elected Town Treasurer in 1902 for the Town of Brunswick. He became Director of the First National Bank in August 1910. November 1932, he became president of the same Bank. Mr. Forsaith received an Honorary Master of Arts from Bowdoin College in 1949. He was also a member of the United Lodge, No. 8, Free and Accepted Masons.
