Description
The nearest building on the left housed the T.J. Mitchell Store and China Shop. The next building became the A & P Grocery, which moved from the other side of Water Street. In the distance the vertical “Unobkey’s” sign marking that department store. On the right, the nearest building, bearing the “Billiards & Bowling” sign, was Stuart’s Bowling Alley. The next building the the R. J. Peacock Canning Company plant at 72 Water Street, still in business as of 2009.
