Description
This is the invitation to the Thursday Club's Colonial Tea Party, an annual event that is known to have lasted at least into the 1930s.
Members were encouraged to dress in period costumes, but it was not a requirement for attendance.
This invitation was addressed to "Miss Emma Hatch -- City". Emma Hatch was a longtime member of the club, and the Librarian at the Biddeford Library, later the McArthur Public Library.
