Description

Lubec lies across the “narrows” from Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Bay of Fundy tidal extremes result in intensely turbulent bore tides which, beginning in the 19th century, mandated construction of this rock breakwater on the busy Lubec waterfront. Campobello Island appears across the channel. This “Artvue” company postcard, derived from a postcard, appears to have been printed by a rotogravure-like process.
