Description
Completion ot the construction of a new courthouse in the footprint of its demolished predecessor in 1902 on the corner of Hammond and Court Streets. Designed by William E. Mansur, who had already designed many of Bangor's public buildings, the ceremony drew a large crowd of observers. The Penobscot County Jail is in the background, designed by Gridley J.F. Bryant and built in 1869.
