Description
Children pose on bleachers in a pattern designed to look like an American flag as a component of the Lubec Centennial Celebration, July 4, 1911, at Monument Lot, Main and Pleasant Streets.
The peak above the “living flag” of children is the Masonic Lodge on the far side of Main Street. The Lodge and the house on the left side still exist as of 2010; the house on the right side, on the far side of Main Street, is gone.
The photographic postcard postmarked Lubec July 17, 1911, is addressed to “Mr. Fred Gott, 91 Main Street, Saugus Mass.” bearing message “”Best regards from Lister Era(?).”
