Description
Main Street in Eagle Lake, a community that was settled in 1840 and incorporated in 1911.
Lumber mills were the major industry, erected primarily after the Fish River Railroad was built through Eagle Lake in 1902.
The railroad was linked with the Bangor & Aroostook and helped connect Eagle Lake and other Aroostook County communities to markets and goods in the southern part of Maine and beyond.
