Description
A snowy Oakfield with the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad station at the right.
The town is on the east branch of the Mattawamkeag River and a number of lakes, including Meduxnekeag, Spaulding, and Long Lake. A 1922 publication called Oakfield "the Switzerland of Aroostook."
