Contributed by Penobscot Marine Museum

Description

Main Street in Eagle Lake with a number of women and children on the street in front of homes.

The lake reportedly was named because of a large number of bald eagles seen there by surveyors. The Fish River is at the northern end of the Lake.

The town was a major lumber producer and had many lumber mills.
