Description
The home of Frederick Alton Powers (1855-1923) in Houlton.
A graduate of Bowdoin College, he studied law with one of his brothers and practiced in Houlton.
He was a member of the Maine State Legislature (1885-1889), Maine attorney general (1893-1897) and was named Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine (1900-1907).
Portland architect John Calvin Stevens designed the house.
