Description
A cartoon urging a "yes" vote on a constitutional amendment to allow Maine women to vote invokes the words of Abraham Lincoln and equates woman suffrage with freedom and democracy.
At the rear of the wagon, an "anti" is trying to stop the vehicle's progress.
The vote was Sept. 10, 1917 and the amendment was rejected.
The artist is William Ourcadie, pseudonym for Frederic W. Freeman
