Description
The Suffrage Referendum League of Maine created numerous cartoon posters to promote a "yes" vote on the Sept. 10, 1917 referendum to amend Maine's constitution to allow women to vote.
This poster discounts the anti suffrage idea that women's dependent status should exempt them from voting.
The artist is William Ourcadie, pseudonym for Frederic W. Freeman.
