Description
A page in Yankee Farmer & New England Cultivator from May 11, 1839 shows Dennis's Patent Premium Silk Spinner and Twister.
The machine reeled cocoons and finished uniform thread, among other processes. It could be operated by foot, steam or water power.
This kind of invention eventually led to sophisticated industrial machinery.
