Description
Eagle Lake, incorporated in 1911, had four lumber mills and 1,421 people in 1910.
The town was settled in 1840 by Sefroi Nadeau, a French Canadian, and Richard Woods, an Irishman.
It was organized into a town in 1856 and named for a frequent visitor, the white-headed (bald) eagle.
