Josiah Pierce letter from school, Limerick, 1840

Description

Josiah Pierce, son of Josiah and Evelina Lewis Pierce of Gorham, was studying at Limerick Academy and living with his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Charles Freeman.

He wrote to his father about the 4th of July activities. He said he got up at 1 a.m. to fire his cannon.
