Description
Employees outside the Loom Picker Company at the corner of Pearl and Elm streets, Biddeford, possibly in 1873. The Loom Picker Company was founded by James Garland in partnership with Frank C. Allen and Horace Smith of the Allen & Smith Loom company.
The Loom Picker Company was at 176 Main Street until at least 1876. By 1882, the company had moved to Pearl and Elm and was located next to Edward H. Staples, trunk manufacturer.

Prior to the Loom Picker Company, this building was the home of the Shaw & Clark Sewing Machine Company.
