Description
From the North Yarmouth Town Records, this request is indicative of the hardship experienced by those "left behind" as family members left to serve during the Civil War. State Aid to Soldiers' families was given from 1862-1866; in North Yarmouth in 1862, four families were aided.
Elizabeth B. Parsons may be the wife of David A. Parsons, a Private in Co. G, 25th Infantry.
