Description
A view of State Street ruins. These buildings in the foreground, Wheelright and Clark Block, Catell Block and Merrill Bank, as well as those directly across Hammond Street, survived the fire while many further on State Steet were destroyed. The tall building on the right background was the Morse Oliver block. A group of spectators watches from the Hammond Street side of the Kenduskeag Bridge.
