Description
Across from the Peacock Canning Company, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. (A & P groceries) soon moved from across Water Street. Later Martin Wilson’s dry goods store, then the Wharf Shop offering Maine crafts, would occupy portions of this building. The sign in upstairs window reads “BIRD (illegible) matting.”
