Description
These two steel buildings were erected along Johnson Street by Sheldon Stanley after the big sardine packing factories were removed. The nearer building remains in place but unused as of 2010. The American Can complex with its associated water tower appears in the distance. The house on the cliff above appears in photographs as far back as 1900 and, despite its precarious-appearing site, remains occupied as of 2010. John and Evelyn Barker lived there in the 1950s, Evelyn until about the end of the 20th Century.
