Description
The Cumberland Town Band was started by Enos Blanchard (1798-1878), son of Beza and Prudence Blanchard of Cumberland, in 1854, and was in existence until 1880. Enos was a ship captain who commanded, among others, the ships Germaine and Nile. Beza and Prudence Blanchard's children included at least three ship captains, Capt. Reuben Blanchard, Capt. Enos Blanchard and Capt. Beza Blanchard, Jr.
