The cover of the program for the 1929 International Snowshoers Convention in Lewiston-Auburn.
The first international convention was held in Lewiston in 1925, a year after the first U.S. snowshoe club -- Le Montagnard -- was formed there.
The event included a parade, music, and various snowshoe events, including a marathon race.
