Description
The Eastern Steamship Company provided regular service between Boston, Massachusetts and Eastport and Lubec before and after the turn of the 20th century. This ship appears to be heading from its wharf into the narrow channel between Lubec and Campobello Island, New Brunswick (visible in the background), toward the open sea. A group of people gathered at the end of the Lubec Breakwater to wave, perhaps staged by the photographer. The Lubec postmark on the address side of this undivided back postcard is dated February 1, 1906.
