Description
This view of Lubec is unusual because a sign “Merchant’s Hotel” is clearly visible in the distance. The building is near the exact center, a multi-story multi-windowed dormered-roof structure with the sign on top. The tallest steeple is the boldly visible Congregational Church. Slightly to the left is a view directly up School Street, revealing the bell tower of the old Methodist Church to the street’s right, then Hilltop School (which burned in November 1913) on the top left. A windmill appears on the far right.
