Description
This spacious and elegant house was built in 1820 for Samuel Grant, son-in-law of Benjamin Vaughan. Grant, a shipbuilder, secured masts for the U.S.S. Constitution. The house remained in the same family until 1928, when it was purchased by Henry Pope Clearwater, Hallowell patent druggist.
