Description
Milliken's Crossing got its name after the construction of the Augusta-Hallowell-Gardiner trolley line in 1890.
The trolley crossed the Maine Central Railroad tracks at the bottom of Loudon Hill and adjacent to the Milliken Sawmill. A signal ball was raised at the crossing when a train was approaching.
The Vaughan Street Bridge crosses over the railroad tracks in the upper left and the Fuller Foundry is located on the right
