The inscription at the bottom of the photo identifies the man as Irving Allan, with a team of horses about to start hay mowing at the Elm Hill Farm, also known as the Vaughan Farm, on Litchfield Road in Hallowell, around 1933. Elm Hill Farm was a dairy farm.
