Description

Deacon Pease Clark was the first settler who built the first house in what is now Hallowell. His lot is shown on the Plan of Cushnoc, 1761, from Nathans Winslow's Plan of June 17, 1761. Deacon Clark arrived at his settler's lot in the spring of 1762 and erected a dwelling. The house was built near what is now the Cotton Mill on Academy Street and was razed many years ago.
