Description
This parade on Lubec’s Main Street is just passing the junction with Washington Street which forms “Flatiron Corner.“ The unpaved streets suggest a date between 1910 and 1920. Close inspection will reveal the tower top of the A. W. Kelley mansion, later the first Catholic rectory, rising in the distance between the first two drummers. The large building on the right bears an undecipherable sign behind the parade leader ending with “...LING...EADS.” This site is the location in 2010 of the Quik Shop convenience store. The distant house with the dormer on the left side of the photo still stands as of 2010.
