Description
This mid-century view of Lubec from Campobello Island was taken around 1950, and may have been taken by an amateur photographer because of the blurred quality. The photograph was embossed after printing, and used as a personal greeting card by Radcliffe “Rad” Pike of the influential Pike family. Rad held a Ph.D. in plant science and had a long career in the Departments of Botany and Horticulture at the University of New Hampshire. He also originated and initially filled the position of Park Naturalist at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt International Park on nearby Campobello Island.
