Description
The old warehouse at Saco Ferry, 1888, showing how it lay on the river bed. This spot was the great winter port for Saco and Biddeford in sailing ship days. The warehouse was built in the early 1800s, and it was 75 years old (or more) when this picture was taken. It was then used by fishermen. Notice the figure seated on the boat and the image of a dog nearby. Beyond in the distance are several boats.
