Description
This is an example of the fisherman’s grabbing technique with a herring weir, leaning back with a straight back as he dries up the pocket. Dories are designed to take a great load on the side without losing stability. The herring in this photo are “4s and 5s” i.e. four fish or five fish to the can of sardines.
