Description
Horace True (1825-1914), a well-known resident of Turner, is shown with his apples packed and ready to be shipped to England. True taught singing in Turner, Auburn, Hebron and other towns during the late 1800s.
He wrote for the Lewiston Journal about his experiences and the singers and bands he worked with. He was also a farmer who had a well-established produce route to Auburn and Lewiston, and he served the town as selectman.
When he died, True was the largest landowner in Turner.
