Description
St. John's Block (St. Jean's Block), Biddeford, circa 1900. The brick block along Main and Elm Streets was built by the Societé St. Jean-Baptiste de Bienfaisance. These are the storefronts along the Main Street side; the carriage along side is a funeral coach. The store is the Onesime Nadeau store which sold crockery, lamps, silverware, stoves, furniture, carpets, and ranges. Nadeau was also an undertaker and embalmer.
