Description
A temporary resting place for “The Father of the Coast Guard” as Hopley Yeaton’s remains are lowered into federal ground at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse on the afternoon of November 1, 1974. Within nine and a half months, Yeaton’s body would be moved to its final resting place at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut.
