Description
Map showing perspective and aerial views of the Laconia Mills and grounds, Biddeford, in 1875. The Laconia Mills were the earliest textile mills on the Biddeford side of the river, but did not weather the difficult economic times during and after the Civil War. By 1900 they had been bought by the Pepperell Manufacturing Company and became the Laconia Division of the Pepperell Mills.
