Seated, middle, Jacob Clark Pike, seated right, Alden W. Kelley. Others unidentified.
Pike (1854-1928), briefly a sea captain, soon entered the sardine business in Lubec. He was a member of the Maine legislature in 1901 and 1903, served as chairman of the board of Lubec Selectmen, and Customs Collector of the ports of Eastport and Lubec under appointment by President Theodore Roosevelt.
Alden W. Kelley, known as “Ollie,” owned a drugstore and lived in a towered Victorian mansion on Church Street near its junction with Summer Street, which later became the Catholic rectory.
