W.H. Hobbs letter on business college, Bangor, 1866

Contributed by Maine Historical Society

Description

W.H. Hobbs, teacher at the Bangor Business College, wrote to Persis Blanchard of Cumberland, describing his work at the college.

He noted that there were "no ladies studying book keeping since I came here" but that another school in Bangor had better accommodations for women, so they all went there.

Hobbs also commented on the liveliness of Bangor due to the lumbering business.
