Description
Lucinda E. Collins, who signed her letter "Ellen," wrote from White River, Michigan, to her friend Persis Blanchard in Cumberland, answering questions Persis apparently had asked in a recent letter.
She described her husband's physical appearance, discussed some of her siblings, and asked Persis questions about people they knew in Cumberland.
She declined to answer questions Persis posed about her wedding night, other than to say she was not frightened. She also reassured Blanchard that she had married for love.
