Description
William J. Curtis (1854-1927), a native of Brunswick and an 1875 graduate of Bowdoin College, gave an autographed photo of himself to Kenneth Sills, president of Bowdoin College from 1918-1952.
Curtis, a lawyer in New York, wrote on the image, "To K.C.M. Sills, L.L.D., from his devoted friend, W.J. Curtis."
Curtis was an overseer at the college from 1901-1915 and a trustee from 1915-1927.
