Description
Katharine Robinson Curtis (1882-1970), the daughter of William J. Curtis and Lena Riley Curtis, was born in New Jersey, educated there and in Pennsylvania, and attended Bryn Mawr College.
In 1905, she married Henry Hill Pierce, a native of Portland, and a lawyer in New York. They lived in New York before retiring to Maine for part of the year.
In 1933, Bowdoin College awarded her an honorary master's degree, recognizing her efforts as a founder of the Society of Bowdoin Women. Her father, her husband, and three sons attended Bowdoin.
