Description
The photograph entitled "Corner of Aunt Anne's kitchen 1896" was a present to Anne Longfellow Pierce from her niece Mary King Longfellow in 1896.
Anne Pierce, the daughter of Zilpah Wadsworth and Stephen Longfellow, lived most of her life in the house on Congress Street in Portland that was built by her grandfather Peleg Wadsworth.
Pierce was married to George Washington Pierce, who died in 1835 after the couple had been married three years. Anne moved back to her family home where she remained until her death in 1901.
Mary King Longfellow (1852-1945) was the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Porter Longfellow.
