Description
Henry H. Pierce (1875-1940), an 1896 graduate of Bowdoin College, took the Civil Service examination on April 20, 1896. He earned a score of 85.78.
Pierce, unable to secure a Civil Service appointment in Washington, instead studied law and became a lawyer in New York.
He was the son of Lewis and Mary Bellows Hill Pierce of Portland.
