Description
Sen. John Chandler of Maine wrote to Gen. Isaac Hodsdon of the Maine Militia to report that a committee of the House of Representatives had acted on a bill to authorize a military road to Houlton.
Chandler was concerned that the committee's amendment to begin the road at Mattanawcook could endanger passage, apparently because the road would be longer than originally proposed.
