Description
Costumed figures -- probably staff and patients -- at the Maine State Sanatorium, a tuberculosis treatment hospital on Greenwood Mountain in Hebron.
Costume parties and parades were popular on July 4 and for other events at the privately operated facility and continued to be popular after the state took it over in 1915 and renamed it the Western Maine Sanatorium.
