Description
Five nurses pose for a photo at the Maine State Sanatorium in Hebron. In the background is a residence building, with sleeping pavilions in the wings at either side.
The tuberculosis-treatment facility opened in 1904 on Greenwood Mountain. It stressed fresh air, a healthy diet, and rest.
Helen Sanderson of East Waterford is at the far right.
