Description
Clarence Hale (1848-1934) was the sixth federal judge in the United States District Court for the District of Maine, serving from 1902 until his death.
A native of Turner, he attended Bowdoin College and later set up his legal practice in Portland.
He served as the City Solicitor for Portland for three years and in the Maine House of Representatives prior to his appointment to the federal district court.
