Description
William Edward Barry made this watercolor painting entitled "Early Jordan Homestead - Saco River 1740 - Living Room."
Barry, a native of Kennebun, trained and worked as an architect for a few Boston firms before he established his own practice in Kennebunk in the 1880s.
Barry also wrote a number of books related to Maine history and architecture, illustrating them with his own sketches.
