Description
The float "The Indian Medicine Man" was #4 in the Historic Floats Parade of July 5th, 1920 in Portland. The parade was part of the Maine Centennial events running from June 26th to July 5th. Wabanaki people in traditional regalia participated in the float, including John Susep (Penobscot) on the far left.
This photograph, along with others featuring the July 5th floats, was on page six of the Tuesday, July 6, 1920 issue of the Portland Evening Express with the title, "Picturesque Photographs From Monday's Gorgeous Floats Parade."
